The latest out of Milan-o (as Italians pronounce the fashion capital) is Dolce & Gabanna's subtle fall collection

Is it a sign of the times or more? The subdued color, the quiet shapes, the almost unceremonious everydayness of many of the looks left us wondering if this was THE post-recession look. Dolce & Gabanna are known for their Dolce Vita looks and sexy attire, but this season all seemed lost until we realized that the sexy this season wasn't in the fits or the fabric but in the mixed and matched prints. D&G rescued us from our runway stupor with its in-house mixologists who paired tweed with lace, leopard with tweed and leopard with polka-dots. There was a huge melange going on that combined the various staid elements to create a look that was contemporary and dare we say, sexy? We're already knee deep in our own closets trying to figure out the best ways to mesh leopard, lace, tweed and other prints. Ahhh joys of  alchemy.
